Barry Shulman is one of the most well-known and most respected figures in the poker industry. He is not only known as an American poker professional but also as the chief executive officer of "CardPlayer Magazine."
Before Barry Shulman pursued a career in poker, he was first engaged in the real estate industry in Washington for twenty five long years. It was after those twenty five years that he decided to venture into the field of poker. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in the 1990s.
Barry Shulman was a newbie in the 1990s but it was also in 1997 that he first showed his remarkable talent in poker. He attended the 28th Annual World Series of Poker, competed in the fifteenth event which was a Pot Limit Hold'em game, emerged as the fifth placer, and won US$25,500.
In the following year, Barry Shulman also attended the 29th Annual World Series of Poker. This poker professional competed in the seventh event which was a No Limit Hold'em game, placed fourth, and took home US$42,000.
Barry Shulman was still active at the 30th Annual World Series of Poker, being one of the poker professionals to play in the second event which was a Limit Razz game. He did not become one of the top five players to reach the final table. Nevertheless, he was a successful ninth placer as a newbie, earning US$3,170.
The major success of Barry Shulman as far as the World Series of Poker is concerned happened on April 26, 2001 when he played in a US$1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo Split Eight or Better event. The cash prize that was awarded to him was worth US$123,820.
Barry Shulman was also one of the poker players who participated at the Ultimatebet.com Poker Classic II that was conducted by the World Poker Tour in Aruba in October 2003. He ended up as a fourth placer and the poker professional who won the game was Erick Lundgren.
Barry Shulman is not only busy with being a poker professional. He also busies himself with being the chief executive officer of "CardPlayer Magazine," which he purchased in 1999 using the funds he received when he retired from the real estate industry.
Barry Shulman was born in Seattle, Washington on May 8, 1946. He has two sons, namely, Michael and Jeff. Jeff is also a poker professional and the president of CardPlayer Media, while Michel is into photography. He also has step children.
